Award Ceremony in Liberty

Representative John Otto was recognized by CASA of Liberty/Chambers Counties Wednesday, Sept. 2, with their Big Voice for Little Texans award, in honor of his selfless service and dedication to the organization.

The informal event was held at the Geraldine Humphries Cultural Center, located at 1710 Sam Houston Street in Liberty.

Texas CASA CEO Vicki Spriggs was introduced, acknowledging the CASA staff and volunteers, as well as Representative Otto’s history and dedication with the organization, before introducing Otto. The State Representative was quoted as saying, “In my opinion, this organization is the best public, private organization I have ever seen function in this state. That’s important, because what it means is people from the community are involved, and if you want to see things get done, don’t just trust it to the state … the real work goes on here, with these board members, the volunteers. That’s what’s so important.”
