These are tough times, particularly for children that are in foster care or have undergone trauma. The Staff at CASA of Liberty and Chambers Counties have some helpful tips on how to keep calm and stay connected.

CASA of Liberty and Chambers Counties Receives Grant
UWGBCC awards $23,500 for Fostering Futures Program

[Liberty, TX]: On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, United Way of Greater Baytown area and Chambers County named CASA of Liberty and Chambers County – Fostering Futures Program the recipient of a grant for $23,500. The grant enables CASA of Liberty and Chambers Counties to continue to provide services to teens amid the COVID-19 crisis through the Fostering Futures Program. A dedicated CASA volunteer devotes his or her time to the safety of the youth and ensures that teen always has someone to go to with any concerns and to push them to dream big.

“When faced with something that is extremely difficult to process emotional and physical CASA can reach out to these children and give them the guidance and support they need to make it through this situation and not only through this situation as a child but further into adulthood. As they grow with process it gives them the reassurance that although it was difficult there is a light at the end of the tunnel.” -Brad Payton, Volunteer

About CASA of Liberty/Chambers Counties: CASA of Liberty/Chambers County is a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides a caring volunteer to children in the foster care system. The volunteer advocates for the child’s best interest to ensure their needs are met. The Fostering Futures Program focuses on older youth in care by providing a volunteer that works with teenagers on visualizing their goals, life skills, and self-advocating.

 

 


CASA of Liberty and Chambers Counties Receives Grant from Texas Bar Foundation
Grant to Benefit Traumatized Youth in Foster Care

Liberty, TX: On April 28, 2020, the Texas Bar Foundation named CASA of Liberty and Chambers Counties the recipient of a grant in the amount of $7,500 designated for their Trauma Care Program. Funds from this grant will provide services to foster children and youth experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges that stem from the trauma of familial separation and histories of abuse.
